Jacob  Coffman

I love the radio. I grew up listening with my dad in the car, jamming out to classic rock on the way to baseball games. I spent high school summers listening while I worked, looking up to DJs like Skid Roadie and Steve Garrett on 101 The Fox. Coming to college I joined the student radio station, KZLX, my freshman year, and since the Fall 2020 semester I have produced my own weekly show "The Buffoon's Boondoggle", playing the classic rock I grew up with and more.

See, it's not the radio itself that I love, not the microphone or the speakers or the invisible radio waves. What I love is sharing the music and stories that impact me. I love introducing people to songs, artists or even genres that they've never heard, or showing an old favorite from a new angle. I love diving deep and finding the story behind a song, and uncovering great new music that hasn't been brought to the light yet. I love radio for its ability to connect us through our music.
